The course is appropriate for individuals interested in pursuing research activities in the field of STD and HIV. Some familiarity with the basic vocabulary of the field is required and most participants have been post-doctoral trainees. The course is generally geared towards those with a doctoral level degree or those in process of completing a doctoral level degree. It not generally appropriate for those without at least a graduate/master’s level of education or less. The course is intended for early career research professionals, and isn’t appropriate for laboratory technicians or for those whose primary focus is program management, community engagement or patient care. The course is taught in English and thus attendees should be comfortable comprehending written and spoken English. Specifically, the following persons would benefit from this course:
The course is open to University of Washington students for academic course credit as well as students and professionals from other organizations and institutions. Those who are not UW students receive a course certificate of completion, and take the course without receiving University credit.
