A limited number of scholarships are awarded each year to help cover the costs of course tuition, travel, and accommodations for highly qualified students without the resources available to participate. Scholarships may include:
*Accommodation is provided for a double-occupancy room with a person of the same sex. Scholarship awardees who have preference for a single-occupancy room will be responsible for paying the additional fee (approximately USD $440 – difference subject to change) on their own.
We usually award several international and several domestic scholarships per year. Scholarship recipients will be selected by Course Directors and are awarded based on evidence of merit and commitment to STD/HIV research, with consideration of the country of origin and type of organization.
Scholarship selection is very competitive, so we recommend that prospective participants seek external resources to attend the course whenever possible.
A complete scholarship application consists of the following components:
Letter of recommendation
Letter of institutional support
Scholarship applications are reviewed by the Course Directors. All pieces must be received by the scholarship application deadline of March 20, 2017. Incomplete applications that do not include both applications and both letters will not be considered. Notification of scholarship award will be sent via email approximately 3-4 weeks after the scholarship deadline. Those who apply for a scholarship will be reviewed for general course acceptance as well, and will be notified if they have been accepted to participate but not granted a scholarship.
Please note that application responses cannot be saved. In order to help you prepare your responses ahead of time, a copy of the application can be viewed here. All applications must be submitted online via the link provided. Applications received via email will not be considered.
